Government Announces £29 Million Pounds for Bioscience

The Business Secretary Greg Clark announced on April 11, 2017, funding of £29 million to support the work  Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh.

This Department of BEIS added that this investment is part of a larger fund totalling £319 million to support the development of  bioscience in the UK over the next 5 years

The Department stated that:

Science, research and innovation are at the heart of the Industrial Strategy which is why we’re providing more than £4.7 billion of additional funding over the next 5 years, including the £319 million for bioscience research. The Roslin Institute is a great example of Scotland’s world class bioscience sector and exactly the sort of project our Industrial Strategy will support.
