Welsh Assembly Improperly Withheld Information on Financial Assistance to Car Company

The Information Commissioner, who arbitrates in cases where Freedom of Information Requests are not properly dealt with, has ruled that the Welsh Assembly was wrong not to disclose the amount it provided to Aston Martin to support investment in Wales in 2016.

The Commission’s decision stated that:

there is a significant public interest in disclosure of sufficient information to enable the public to assess the integrity and cost-effectiveness of government administrations.
