Ineos: Dodges taxes, pushes fracking, tries to blackmail government for a cash handout

Ineos, the new owner of the Land Rover Defender is reportedly asking for new subsidies as an incentive to invest in the UK. And the UK government will no doubt be seriously considering making a large commitment to the company. Being able to announce new investment at this time would provide the government with a boost as the Brexit negotiations shift a gear. And Jim Ratcliffe, CEO of Ineos, knows it!

Our database reveals that the company has been provided with support worth over £25m already.

This is the same company that (temporarily) moved to Switzerland in 2010 to cut its tax bill, has put pressure on the UK to relax environmental regulations, and is joining with others to push fracking and oppose green taxes.

Thi is clearly one to watch in future…
